A professionally prepared product catalogue undoubtedly makes it very easy to reach an even wider customer base – invariably this is one of the most popular ways of maximising sales. The creation of such a catalogue – creating its structure, developing its agreement, gathering, defining and presenting product information, as well as acquiring good-quality images, clearly showing the functions of these products – undoubtedly requires a great deal of work and the involvement of many people who are experts in their fields. Ultimately, all of this must be combined in such a way that the printed offer looks as attractive as the electronic version. It would also be a good idea to condense the file to a size that allows it to be delivered easily to the e-mail inboxes of potential customers.

The more extensive the range being offered, the more work that is involved – and this was also the case in this order. They tasked us with translating a 70-page product catalogue from English into Polish. When we accept an order, we carefully review the content of the customer’s source files to ensure that we can choose a translator with experience in the relevant industry.

The catalogue offered tyres for lorries and buses, which means the text was highly specialised, requiring us to select a translator who specialises in this technical area. As the catalogue was intended for publication, the customer also opted for native speaker proofreading, to ensure that the text sounded as natural as possible, as well as making it read as if it were written by a native speaker.

The customer provided us with a non-editable pdf file in English and commissioned us to prepare the catalogue in Polish in two versions, namely as an interactive file and as a printable file, which meant the task also included full graphic representation. Therefore, in addition to the translator and proofreader, a graphic designer was also included in the process, who not only prepared the file for translation, but also took care of the final graphic layout according to their instructions.

Before delivering the finished document, as agreed at the quotation stage, we sent the translated file to them for review and approval. This allowed the customer to make comments on the final file, which we ultimately updated together with the translator, proofreader, graphic designer and internal quality control team. After this polishing, the catalogue was finally assembled by the graphic designer into the formats desired by the customer and sent back safely. After receiving the finished order, they asked us to create a smaller file to send to their customers by e-mail, which our graphic designer took care of it in no time.

The culmination of our partnership was their positive feedback:

Our partnership on the commissioned translation of the product catalogue into Polish went very well. The file sent for translation was converted into Polish quickly. They gave us time for a thorough analysis, allowing us to deal with the topic at our own pace. When we submitted our comments related to the specification of industry terminology, the changes were smoothly and flawlessly incorporated into the catalogue. A few days after the order was completed, when we requested a file in a specific format and size, it was submitted without any delay.

Communication with the agency is very good and the quality of the translations continue to improve.

We are happy with the partnership and intend to continue it.

Thank you very much 😊
