Who speaks Chinese?
Referring to the Chinese language, we usually mean a group of languages, composed of several languages and dialects belonging to the Sino-Tibetan family. Chinese is the most common language in the world. It is spoken by almost 1.5 billion people, and constitutes the native language for about one billion people. In the People’s Republic of China, people speak Mandarin. We may communicate in it in Singapore as well. It is also one of the official UN languages. Different varieties of Chinese may be used for communication in Hong Kong, Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and the Philippines without any problems.
History of the Chinese language
Chinese is probably the oldest language in the world used nowadays. Chinese has been spoken for several thousand years. In its initial form, it consisted of pictographic signs, which evolved gradually. The current Chinese language originates directly from the Old Chinese used from the 7th to 10th century.
Use of the Chinese language in business
China is an economic power whose presence becomes increasingly visible in many countries of the world, also in Poland. And we are more and more willing to visit the Middle Kingdom for business reasons. No wonder that its role in the international arena is constantly growing. For companies that plan any activities in those areas, the staff using Mandarin is absolutely essential.
