Polish Albanian translator
Who speaks Albanian?
Albanian is part of the Indo-European language family, specifically the group of the Indo-Slavic languages. Over 6 million people use it all over the world. This language is divided into different dialects, from which the most widespread dialect is Tosk Albanian, on the basis of which the official language was formed.
Albanian has a status of the official language in Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia. Outside these countries, we will also communicate in this language in some ethnic groups in Italy and Greece.
History of the Albanian language
We should look for the origins of this language in the 7th century AD. It developed together with the Illyrian, Messapian and Romanian languages, i.e. with languages that were used in similar territories, and bears a resemblance to them. The first written record in Albanian comes from 1462 and it is the baptism formula. Interestingly, until 1908, the Cyrillic alphabet and even the Arabic alphabet were used for writing the Albanian language. After this year, the Latin alphabet was introduced. The contemporary form of the Albanian language has remained unchanged since the 19th century.
Albanian in business
Taking into account the relatively unstable social and economic situation in the regions which use Albanian, its use by Polish enterprises may be insignificant. Its knowledge will only be useful for these companies that conduct business relationships with Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia.
